Improving Access to Primary and Emergency Health Care Services amongst Conflict-affected and Vulnerable People Living in Hard-to-Reach Areas of Kandahar and Helmand Provinces of Afghanistan

To deliver quality trauma care and MHT services, OCCD supports two first aid trauma post (FATPs) in Kandahar and 5 MHNTs in Helmand provinces. OCCD provides FATPs service in Arghestan, Takhta Pul districts of Kandahar and 5 MHNTs in Garmser, Musaqalah, Nad-e-Ali, Nahr-e-Saraj and Sangin districts of Helmand Province.

Through this project, OCCD improves the infrastructure of HFs and Triage areas, provision of regular medicine /medical supplies, medical/non-medical equipment, recruitment of additional staff to provide nursing care and psychosocial counselling service, strengthen the referral activities through the ambulance services in targeted HFs, buidling the staff capacity on BLS, PSS and IPC. OCCD provides the full package of health and nutrition services and buidling capacity of MHT in Helmand province. The project funded by UN-OCHA under AHF 2022 1st standard allocation.
